The birthday girl opted NOT to be Alice and insisted on being her favorite character, The White Rabbit.
As you can see, it was the adults who mostly played the parts of the various characters.
I must say that I am absolutely blessed. My closest friends went all out to help celebrate and make the party a fantastic success. The Laudigs must have gotten more than a few double glances as they drove down I-69 from their home in Pendleton, dressed as the Queen of Hearts, the Mad Hatter, and the Cheshire Cat.
The attendees dined on a variety of finger foods.........though admittedly they went for the cookies and candies first, and the real food only when pressured. Shocking isn't it?
The table was also set with a tumbling tower of teacups and a multitude of tiered tea serving trays. Another Mad Hatter, aka Daddy, spent an evening drilling holes into vintage mismatched china a week prior to the party. They were a resounding success. Katie's favorite had a 1950's Occupied Japan swan on top of it, holding pastel Jordan Almonds. I have to admit, it is my favorite of the 5 towers that were made for the party. They were just the right touch and made for a festive table.
The kids all loved the tumbling tower of teacups.
And of course, the cake and cupcakes!
While the Cheshire Cat preferred the brownies.......though a larger size of brownies would have provided a better mouth-to-brownie proportion.
Katie managed to escape the wrath of either of the Queens of Hearts.
But not her Grandpa...............Off with his head!
Good thing he didn't get too close to Miss Christy, she looks ready to use her flamingo as a weapon.
Katie's cousin, Zachary, doesn't seem to approve of Aunt Lele's choice of footwear.
Thanks to everyone for celebrating Katie's 7th birthday with us!!
