Birthday Boy

This weekend was my nephew, Zachary's, birthday.  He's now 7--big stuff!  This year for his birthday party, all the recent hurricane activities decided to dump rain on his house.  And there were plenty of active boys invited to what was intended to be his outside birthday festivities.  So we all jumped into action and cleaned up the barn, so that the party could be held there during the inclement portions of the day.

His party was themed around Star Wars and was complete with the Phantom Menace playing on the big screen in the barn, and just what every party needs--a Darth Vader pinata...........

After the pinata was broken and the candy contents spilled, the kids took turns wearing the remains of the pinata.  Little kids and big kids alike............

And of course, there was a Star Wars themed cake as well.............

After cake was served and the balloon popping content took place, the rain gave up for awhile and we all clamored outside for some exuberant fun.  Which in our case, meant a rope swinging contest.

The birthday boy had a fun day...............
