We visited over Labor Day, so no holiday lights for us. But plenty of sunshine and with the recent rains, plenty of water to make the waterwheel work its magic.
We had stayed overnight in Yellow Springs during Labor Day, so were able to enjoy breakfast at the mill. The mill is less than 10 miles outside of town. On the menu are GIANT pancakes made with the flour from the mill. We were lucky enough to get a table near the big window so that we could have a view of the waterwheel.
I especially enjoyed the old gas station. The rusty old signs are amazing. Reminds me of the old timey gas station that my Great Uncle Tom took me to outside of Clarkdale, AZ. It really looked the part. So much so, that it was often used for filming movies. This one makes me think of the Waltons, for some reason.
I liked seeing all the flags on the building.
Totally amazed at how old the mill is and how lucky that it is still in working condition.
Here's to even more centuries of milling!
