Snow Birds

Now that Christmas is over, we've gotten all the white we can stand..................

Even the little seed pods on our gum trees have little hats of snow on top of them.

And in the courtyard our wall planter, Zeus, is now wearing a dunce cap.

We've enjoyed bird watching, as the feeders are quite busy because of the deep snow.

I love all the birds, truly I do, but the male cardinals are so vibrant against the white snow.

He's definitely puffed up to keep warm.  He's even covered up his little toes.............I would too!

Snow and ice are everywhere when you are this little.

It was difficult for all the birds, big and small, to stay put on the branches--the wind was quite fierce the other day.

My vintage bicycle, Bluebell, looks a bit forlorn.

As does Paul, after shoveling the driveway.

Here is the view out my laundry room window.  You can just see Bluebell in the lower right hand corner.  Ah, winter...........how you vex me!
